FutureB-
The Raiders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Raiders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
If Walley pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick 4 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell at slot 46 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick77
Rnd3
Rod Moore
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Rod Moore at the Round 3 slot is the proof. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick112
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
A slide stopped in the 112th pick, with Matt Goncalves worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick117
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Jackson. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick147
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
No edge and no loss on Jaylan Ford in Round 5, Pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick150
Rnd5
Ben Sinnott
A straight-up fair deal on Ben Sinnott at No. 150, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153
Rnd5
Justin Walley
They went early on Justin Walley in pick No. 153, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick187
Rnd6
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in No. 187 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick190
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
They took Michael Barrett at par in pick 190, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick229
Rnd7
Jawhar Jordan
They robbed the room for Jawhar Jordan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick234
Rnd7
Fentrell Cypress II
Fentrell Cypress II in slot 234 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
The board had Edefuan Ulofoshio higher than pick No. 255, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick256
Rnd7
Carson Steele
A reasonable price with a little left over, Carson Steele in the 256th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
