Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Raiders a B+.

The Raiders clearly saw something nobody else did in Dominic Zvada, taking him 71 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Raiders indulged a want in Omosigho while a need in tight end stayed open. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Laloulu.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 12 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value. More want than need.
Pick35 Rnd2 Cashius Howell
They did well to land Cashius Howell in the 35th pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick44 Rnd2 Isaiah World
Isaiah World at the 44th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66 Rnd3 LaNorris Sellers
LaNorris Sellers at Round 3, Pick 2 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick76 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy in pick No. 76 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick104 Rnd4 Chris Johnson
They jumped the gun on Chris Johnson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick111 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at slot 111 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Sammy Omosigho
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Sammy Omosigho adds a linebacker and leaves tight end untouched.
Pick152 Rnd5 Hollywood Smothers
They paid sticker price for Hollywood Smothers in Round 5, Pick 12, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick173 Rnd5 Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu is a better player than pick 173 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick181 Rnd6 Duce Robinson
Duce Robinson in No. 181 lands just on the right side of the ledger. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick185 Rnd6 Aaron Graves
They read the board right and Aaron Graves was the payoff at the 185th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
They reached into another round for Dominic Zvada, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
