Draft Grade — Ravens

The Ravens did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Ravens did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Burke. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Bralen Trice
In No. 32 they get juice off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Denzel Burke
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 32: Denzel Burke for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick95 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tykee Smith. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick132 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
A slide stopped in slot 132, with Isaiah Adams worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Kamal Hadden
Fair-plus on Kamal Hadden, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick169 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers at the 169th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
