The 49ers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Anto Saka at pick No. 90 is 33 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. McNeil-Warren falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

In the 26th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Jaeden Roberts
They jumped the gun on Jaeden Roberts, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Anto Saka at pick 90 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in the 127th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 33 with a little surplus value in Tacario Davis. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

No drama and no debate, J.C. Davis went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
