Larceny in the Round 7 slot lands the 49ers a D, Devonshire and all.

You could see the war room lean forward. M.J. Devonshire at slot 249 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Liufau to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
