The board owed the Lions one, and it paid up: Johnny Wilson, the No. 75 name on the board, sitting there at the 93rd overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
