The Bengals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

Everything else got attention, and interior defensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Bengals to leave a draft. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Ulofoshio at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Smith-Wade pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

T.J. Tampa slipping to the 49th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 16, where Trey Benson graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.

They read the board right and Blake Fisher was the payoff at No. 115. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

Chau Smith-Wade in pick 151 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Edefuan Ulofoshio slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the linebacker. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
