Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Jaguars bet the future on Ewers. The board says D.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Jaguars shredded theirs for T.J. Sanders. He came off 85 spots early, and the room will hear about it.

On value alone, Leonard makes the weekend a net positive. The whole projection now runs through Quinn Ewers; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The veteran additions, Myles Garrett chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at slot 5 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick13 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the 13th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 James Pearce Jr.
They took James Pearce Jr. at par in pick 34, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick36 Rnd2 Deone Walker
Deone Walker at Round 2, Pick 4 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick44 Rnd2 Clay Webb
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Clay Webb. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick53 Rnd2 Tai Felton
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 53, where Tai Felton graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kevin Winston Jr. this early at No. 65. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Shavon Revel Jr.
A big swing on Shavon Revel Jr. at pick 75, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick84 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at slot 84 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
They reached a country mile for Gunnar Helm at the 95th pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick103 Rnd4 Tahj Brooks
Tahj Brooks in Round 4, Pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jared Wilson well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick139 Rnd5 T.J. Sanders
They reached into another round for T.J. Sanders, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick177 Rnd6 Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams at the 177th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick205 Rnd6 Denver Harris
Denver Harris in the 205th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick215 Rnd7 Riley Leonard
Steal is underselling it; Riley Leonard at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
