The Chiefs checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Chiefs reached some 33 spots for Ethan Downs, and value like that does not grow back. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Tyler Warren slid further than he should have, and the 31st pick is lovely value for the tight end. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Jack Bech in No. 66 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

Kevin Winston Jr. at the 95th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.

They reached a country mile for Pat Bryant at Round 4, Pick 31, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

You do not let a linebacker like Jay Higgins reach pick 226 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

Isaac TeSlaa slipping to No. 251 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
