A passer of the future in McCarthy, and a B+, for the Bears. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Milton III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
Getting Smith where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
