The Chiefs did not so much draft Aireontae Ersery as overpay for him, 52 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Sampson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
