Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B to prove it. Everything else got attention, and linebacker got none. That is a strange way for the Bills to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B.
On value alone, Haulcy makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
The dealing was even money, start to finish.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
Nothing to complain about; Denzel Boston went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick60
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy is a better player than slot 60 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick91
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They paid sticker price for Darrell Jackson Jr. in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
By-the-book stuff, J.C. Davis at pick No. 126 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick166
Rnd5
Kaleb Proctor
Kaleb Proctor at the 166th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick220
Rnd7
Dane Key
Dane Key in Round 7, Pick 4 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
