Somewhere a general manager is explaining how David Stone got past him. The Saints do not have to explain a thing at No. 58. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Saints paired the rookies with proven help, D.J. Reed leading the way. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
