JA DRAFTING FOR THEBills

Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bills. The tape said wait; the Bills did not. Antwaun Powell-Ryland went at the 109th pick, a good 49 picks before the board was ready. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Emmanwori falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the 30th overall pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
No edge and no loss on Azareye'h Thomas in pick No. 56; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick62
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Good price on Alfred Collins in slot 62, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick109
Rnd4
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
A wild overpay on Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the 109th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
Pick132
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
They let Emery Jones Jr. come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
Vernon Broughton
The board had cheaper options than Vernon Broughton at pick 169, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170
Rnd5
Jack Kiser
A reach for Jack Kiser in the 170th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues in pick 173 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick177
Rnd6
Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at the 177th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick206
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
They talked themselves into Cam Jackson at Round 6, Pick 30, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
