Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Proctor: B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Josh Proctor, the No. 197 name on the board, stolen at the 238th pick.

The McCormick pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. Every board in the league had Pratt lower, and that gap is the story.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick No. 20 they get a lockdown presence outside. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick84 Rnd3 Michael Pratt
A real head-scratcher, Michael Pratt in slot 84 is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick120 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
A curious use of pick 120. Interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; an offensive lineman in Mason McCormick did not.
Pick121 Rnd4 Malik Washington
They took Malik Washington at par in the 121st pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick198 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Curtis Jacobs at No. 198. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
Steal is underselling it; Josh Proctor at the 238th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
