A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 223 spots for Khordae Sydnor, and value like that does not grow back.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
Shemar Stewart at the 23rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
They paid up for Azareye'h Thomas at Round 2, Pick 22 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: Jayden Higgins for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in pick No. 122 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick158 Rnd5 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at slot 158 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
Circle this one: Jonah Monheim at No. 196 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick237 Rnd7 Jamaree Caldwell
A wild overpay on Jamaree Caldwell in Round 7, Pick 21, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick250 Rnd7 Khordae Sydnor
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khordae Sydnor well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
