McCaffrey should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Luke McCaffrey sat on the board until pick No. 171, and the Chiefs did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Allen has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The Chiefs indulged a want in Stover while a need in tight end, quarterback and other spots stayed open.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
