Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD
The Ravens worked the phones like thieves and earned a B.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Ravens came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

They will need Bisontis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They banked enough surplus on World to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Maxx Crosby pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick45 Rnd2 Chase Bisontis
They left a pile of value on the table to take Chase Bisontis this early at the Round 2 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick80 Rnd3 Ja'Kobi Lane
They liked Ja'Kobi Lane enough to skip the value, taking him in the 80th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick115 Rnd4 Julian Neal
The board had Julian Neal higher than pick No. 115, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152 Rnd5 Isaiah World
A tidy bit of business in slot 152, where Isaiah World graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick160 Rnd5 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
A big swing on Kaleb Elarms-Orr at Round 5, Pick 22, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick172 Rnd5 Zane Durant
By-the-book stuff, Zane Durant at the 172nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick184 Rnd6 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst at pick 184 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick191 Rnd6 Matt Gulbin
Nice patience on Matt Gulbin, who had no business lasting to No. 191. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick252 Rnd7 Cole Payton
They read the board right and Cole Payton was the payoff at the 252nd overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
