Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB
Larceny in slot 243 lands the Browns a B-, Johnson and all.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Cornelius Johnson, slot 243, roughly 56 picks past where he belonged.

Reaching for Corum left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with edge rusher, cornerback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick54 Rnd2 Blake Corum
Blake Corum at slot 54 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick111 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
A want over a need in Round 4, Pick 11: Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE while edge rusher, cornerback and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at pick 135 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick155 Rnd5 AJ Barner
They took AJ Barner at par in the 155th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick202 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Nothing to complain about; Joe Milton III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
Steal is underselling it; Caedan Wallace at the 205th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
A premium they did not need to pay, Tanor Bortolini a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick243 Rnd7 Cornelius Johnson
They will replay Cornelius Johnson at No. 243 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
