The 49ers let Fitzgerald fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Ryan Fitzgerald tumbling to the 49ers in slot 232 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They are betting Shough proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

The Castro pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
