SactoPaul70 DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall
B

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B. You can hear the double-takes from here. The 49ers took Mason Reiger at pick No. 138, roughly 60 spots before his name belonged.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Klare steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling at the Round 1 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at pick 58 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92
Rnd3
Max Klare
They read the board right and Max Klare was the payoff at the 92nd pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127
Rnd4
Bud Clark
Bud Clark in No. 127 is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick133
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 33, where Bryce Lance graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick138
Rnd4
Mason Reiger
A big swing on Mason Reiger at pick No. 138, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick171
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott at No. 171 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
