Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Coleman: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Keon Coleman slide 52 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The cost of the Wallace reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell at pick No. 25 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick41 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
They let Troy Fautanu come to them and pounced at No. 41. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins in pick 58 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
The board fumbled Keon Coleman all the way to the 88th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Trey Benson
By-the-book stuff, Trey Benson at the 91st pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick127 Rnd4 Kalen King
Kalen King in slot 127 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick168 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
A straight-up fair deal on Sione Vaki at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick204 Rnd6 Eric Watts
They paid sticker price for Eric Watts in Round 6, Pick 29, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick216 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trevin Wallace this early at No. 216. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick243 Rnd7 Nathan Thomas
Somehow Nathan Thomas was still sitting there in pick No. 243, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick251 Rnd7 LaDarius Henderson
A tidy little value on LaDarius Henderson in the 251st overall pick, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
