GOBLUE DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Cardinals. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cardinals left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Colson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Jenkins pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In slot 4 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27
Rnd1
Tyler Guyton
In No. 27 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
They liked Kris Jenkins enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 35. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Junior Colson
They read the board right and Junior Colson was the payoff at the 66th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick71
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Christian Haynes in the Round 3 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the 90th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
