The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Washington steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They are betting Tupuola-Fetui proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
