A franchise passer in Penix Jr. headlines a D- weekend for the Broncos. The Broncos clearly saw something nobody else did in Luke McCaffrey, taking him 35 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Put together, it is a D-.
So much rides on Michael Penix Jr. that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They will answer for taking cornerback early while interior defensive lineman went begging.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Wallace.
