The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Reaching for Steele left real value on the table behind him. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Bullard value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
