This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tez Johnson, the No. 100 name on the board, stolen at slot 143.

Buchanan has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In the 6th overall pick they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Booker at Round 2, Pick 5 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
They let Jayden Higgins come to them and pounced at pick No. 68. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick108 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cam Skattebo. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick143 Rnd5 Tez Johnson
They will replay Tez Johnson at slot 143 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180 Rnd6 RJ Harvey
Quietly one of the better values of the day, RJ Harvey at pick 180. It fills a real need, too.

R.J. Mickens at No. 213 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

Craig Woodson in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.

Teddye Buchanan at Round 7, Pick 6 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It adds depth where they could use a little.
