STEEL DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Steelers, and a B- to prove it. The Steelers' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In slot 20 they get a building block for the line at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick51
Rnd2
Ruke Orhorhoro
By-the-book stuff, Ruke Orhorhoro at pick 51 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick84
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Khyree Jackson in the 84th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick120
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the 120th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick121
Rnd4
Ainias Smith
A reach for Ainias Smith in Round 4, Pick 21; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
