Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B to prove it.

The Chiefs clearly saw something nobody else did in Jaydon Blue, taking him 65 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hancock. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A quiet steal in No. 63: Trey Amos for less than the market said. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jared Ivey
A conviction pick on Jared Ivey at pick No. 66 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick95 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond in slot 95 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick133 Rnd4 Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles at pick 133 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick226 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
You do not let a safety like Jordan Hancock reach the 226th pick and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jaydon Blue
A big swing on Jaydon Blue at pick 251, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick257 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway in the 257th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
