There is reaching, and then there is Javontae Jean-Baptiste at the 145th pick. The Bears jumped the board by 73 and dared it to prove them wrong. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Landing Benson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
