Draft Grade — Cowboys

FutureB-
The Cowboys won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 34 spots for Darius Robinson, and value like that does not grow back. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. On value alone, Jefferson makes the weekend a net positive. Spending an early pick on edge rusher with cornerback, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
No edge and no loss on Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
A straight-up fair deal on Edgerrin Cooper at Round 2, Pick 24, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick65
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick No. 65 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick87
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in slot 87 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick90
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at pick 90 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick125
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Justin Eboigbe at edge rusher with cornerback, quarterback and other spots open.
Pick173
Rnd5
Austin Booker
Austin Booker in pick 173 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick213
Rnd6
Jordan Jefferson
The board fumbled Jordan Jefferson all the way to slot 213, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick222
Rnd7
De'Corian Clark
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing De'Corian Clark in the 222nd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick242
Rnd7
Isaac Guerendo
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaac Guerendo well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
