Smith should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B-.

It is a puzzling start. The Steelers had quarterback, linebacker and other spots to solve and reached instead for Zach Frazier, an offensive lineman, at No. 51. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Every board in the league had Harrell lower, and that gap is the story.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
