When a board-topper like Jordan James slides to the 223rd overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Steelers did not.

They will need Caldwell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
