Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Mitchell Evans got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 231. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
