Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Larceny in the Round 6 slot lands the Packers a B+, Vidal and all.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Kimani Vidal slide 33 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

The Thompson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In No. 29 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice in slot 41 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick57 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Calen Bullock at the Round 2 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88 Rnd3 Roman Wilson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Roman Wilson in pick No. 88. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at the 92nd pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick99 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
The board had Marist Liufau higher than the 99th overall pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick125 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster in Round 4, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick135 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
Taking Ainias Smith in pick 135 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at the 203rd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick217 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
A running back of that caliber at No. 217 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick219 Rnd6 Stefon Thompson
The board had cheaper options than Stefon Thompson at pick No. 219, and it noticed. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carson Steele
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Steele. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
