FutureB-
The Chiefs cashed the board's mistake on Sadiq: B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Chiefs came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
Landing Sadiq that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Traore reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Christen Miller
By-the-book stuff, Christen Miller at Round 1, Pick 24 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick45
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
You do not let a tight end like Kenyon Sadiq reach slot 45 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick55
Rnd2
Jonah Coleman
A tidy little value on Jonah Coleman in No. 55, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
They paid up for Malachi Fields at pick 76 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88
Rnd3
Keon Sabb
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Keon Sabb at the Round 3 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick114
Rnd4
Boubacar Traore
A reach for Boubacar Traore in the 114th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick123
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in the 123rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153
Rnd5
Eugene Wilson III
Circle this one: Eugene Wilson III at Round 5, Pick 13 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick164
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at pick No. 164 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jermaine Mathews Jr.
A reach on Jermaine Mathews Jr. in the 176th overall pick; the board had better options right there. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
