Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Eagles spent Round 5, Pick 18 on Jalen McLeod, a name most had 53 spots down the list. Put together, it is a D-.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That Crenshaw-Dickson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
