The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Eagles reached some 31 spots for Tonka Hemingway, and value like that does not grow back. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Evans. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
