Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Eagles to a D.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Dominic Zvada; the Eagles did not wait, grabbing him 47 spots ahead at the 220th pick. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Ponds at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Nice patience on Emmanuel Pregnon, who had no business lasting to No. 54. It fills a real need, too.
Pick60 Rnd2 Eli Stowers
No drama and no debate, Eli Stowers went about where he belonged in pick No. 60. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick68 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at slot 68 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick96 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Zakee Wheatley at pick 96. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick98 Rnd3 Caden Curry
A premium they did not need to pay, Caden Curry a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick122 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
A tidy little value on Bryce Lance in the 122nd pick, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Keagen Trost
Keagen Trost in No. 137 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Fair-plus on Kevin Coleman Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick179 Rnd5 Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin in the 179th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick201 Rnd6 Jadon Canady
They took Jadon Canady at par in slot 201, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick211 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
Zxavian Harris in Round 6, Pick 32 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick220 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
A big swing on Dominic Zvada at pick No. 220, well ahead of any board in the building. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
