Draft Grade — Eagles

The phones sank the Eagles this weekend: D-. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Eagles did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
Every board in the league had Pena lower, and that gap is the story. Green falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In No. 26 they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value.
Pick54
Rnd2
Omar Cooper Jr.
They took Omar Cooper Jr. at par in the 54th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick68
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley in slot 68 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91
Rnd3
Treydan Stukes
They paid sticker price for Treydan Stukes in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick103
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Mike Washington Jr. at Round 4, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jaishawn Barham
No edge and no loss on Jaishawn Barham in pick 109; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick114
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
No drama and no debate, Bryce Lance went about where he belonged in the 114th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120
Rnd4
Bud Clark
Bud Clark at pick No. 120 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Logan Jones
A straight-up fair deal on Logan Jones at No. 122, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick137
Rnd4
Beau Stephens
They jumped the gun on Beau Stephens, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keagen Trost. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick178
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in slot 178 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick194
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Taylen Green at the 194th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick201
Rnd6
Bobby Jamison-Travis
Bobby Jamison-Travis at Round 6, Pick 20 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick210
Rnd6
Keyshaun Elliott
Keyshaun Elliott in pick No. 210 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick215
Rnd6
Trebor Pena
Trebor Pena at the 215th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick220
Rnd7
Miles Kitselman
They paid sticker price for Miles Kitselman in the 220th overall pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick228
Rnd7
Antonio Kite
By-the-book stuff, Antonio Kite at the 228th pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick235
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Zuhn III a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
