Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The phones sank the Eagles this weekend: D-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, 60 picks ahead of schedule.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Burke pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In the 32nd pick they get the heartbeat of the defense, outstanding value to boot.
Pick53 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
They paid sticker price for Harold Fannin Jr. in No. 53, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey at pick No. 64 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick96 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant in pick 96 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in slot 105 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
The board had Jaylin Noel higher than the Round 4 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick120 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
They barely believed it either: Denzel Burke still on the board at Round 4, Pick 19. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick129 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
Quietly one of the better values of the day, O'Donnell Fortune at pick No. 129. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick165 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Shough at No. 165 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick166 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
They robbed the room for Andres Borregales here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick169 Rnd5 Willie Lampkin
No edge and no loss on Willie Lampkin in the 169th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick217 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
They talked themselves into Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at the 217th overall pick, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick218 Rnd6 Marcus Yarns
Marcus Yarns at slot 218 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
