Philly V DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
D-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureB-
The Eagles bled value on every deal, hence the D-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Eagles spent pick 58 on Gabe Jacas, a name most had 38 spots down the list.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Neal at that price is a win they earned.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Value with a capital V on Emmanuel Pregnon in No. 54, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick58
Rnd2
Gabe Jacas
Gabe Jacas at Round 2, Pick 26 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Nothing to complain about; Eli Stowers went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick96
Rnd3
Julian Neal
Somehow Julian Neal was still sitting there in pick 96, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98
Rnd3
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at pick No. 98 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
They did well to land Jude Bowry in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick127
Rnd4
Bishop Fitzgerald
A safety of that caliber at No. 127 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick137
Rnd4
Skyler Gill-Howard
By-the-book stuff, Skyler Gill-Howard at pick 137 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick151
Rnd5
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 151st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick179
Rnd5
Nadame Tucker
Nice patience on Nadame Tucker, who had no business lasting to the 179th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick201
Rnd6
Justin Jefferson
A clean, defensible pick in slot 201 with a little surplus value in Justin Jefferson. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick211
Rnd6
Toriano Pride Jr.
Toriano Pride Jr. at Round 6, Pick 32 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
