Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
The Eagles let Bernard fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Germie Bernard, the No. 62 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 98. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. They are betting Proctor proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In the 23rd overall pick they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Malachi Lawrence
Malachi Lawrence at Round 2, Pick 22 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
By-the-book stuff, Zakee Wheatley at No. 92 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Germie Bernard
The board fumbled Germie Bernard all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick112 Rnd4 Logan Jones
Logan Jones at pick 112 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick114 Rnd4 Kaleb Proctor
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kaleb Proctor. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick137 Rnd4 Skyler Gill-Howard
They paid up for Skyler Gill-Howard at pick No. 137 when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick152 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in slot 152 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick178 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
A slide stopped in pick No. 178, with Tanner Koziol worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick197 Rnd6 Cole Payton
Cole Payton in the 197th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
