Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Eagles and Neal: D-.

The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Koziol has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Landing Neal that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick54 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
They took Gennings Dunker at par in No. 54, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing A.J. Haulcy in slot 68. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at pick 85 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick98 Rnd3 Julian Neal
Somehow Julian Neal was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick109 Rnd4 Justin Joly
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Justin Joly at the 109th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick121 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch slid further than he should have, and the 121st pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick122 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
They barely believed it either: D'Angelo Ponds still on the board at pick 122. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick146 Rnd5 Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes in pick No. 146 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick151 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
Aaron Graves in slot 151 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick179 Rnd5 Bud Clark
Bud Clark at No. 179 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick201 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
No edge and no loss on Trey Zuhn III in the 201st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
