Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Larceny in Round 2, Pick 28 lands the Eagles a D-, Thieneman and all.

Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

They will need Greene III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The Thieneman pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

On the needs board they went 8 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In pick 23 they get a matchup weapon at tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
A tidy little value on Elijah Sarratt in pick No. 54, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick60 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in No. 60 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick68 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
You do not let a cornerback like D'Angelo Ponds reach the 68th pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick98 Rnd3 Jaeden Roberts
Value said wait; Jaeden Roberts in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick109 Rnd4 Caden Curry
Caden Curry in slot 109 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick122 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
A clean, defensible pick in the 122nd pick with a little surplus value in Bryce Lance. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Skyler Gill-Howard
Skyler Gill-Howard in the 137th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick146 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick151 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III in No. 151 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick179 Rnd5 Taylen Green
A reasonable price with a little left over, Taylen Green in pick 179. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick201 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at pick No. 201 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick220 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
Dominic Zvada at Round 7, Pick 4 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
