Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles let Ponds fall and pounced. Final grade: D-.

The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. If Norfleet pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Landing Ponds that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at slot 23 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick54 Rnd2 Akheem Mesidor
No edge and no loss on Akheem Mesidor in Round 2, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick62 Rnd2 Keith Abney II
Steal is underselling it; Keith Abney II at the 62nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields in the 68th pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick86 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Nothing to complain about; Zakee Wheatley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Caden Curry
Caden Curry at No. 98 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick117 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge in pick No. 117 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick122 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Max Iheanachor
No drama and no debate, Max Iheanachor went about where he belonged in pick 137. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick151 Rnd5 Kyle Louis
They read the board right and Kyle Louis was the payoff at the 151st pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick179 Rnd5 Bud Clark
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bud Clark. The roster fit checks out.
Pick180 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels in Round 6, Pick 1 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick201 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Zuhn III at the 201st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick202 Rnd6 Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet in No. 202 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
