No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys did not so much draft Jamaree Caldwell as overpay for him, 103 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
