There is reaching, and then there is Hayden Conner at the 248th pick. The Saints jumped the board by 23 and dared it to prove them wrong.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Trapilo.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
