Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B+
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesA+
FutureB-
The Ravens won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Ravens were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Wright to cover a lot of smaller sins.
The D.J. Humphries pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Wallace has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick62
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice at slot 62 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick93
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 30, with Jaylen Wright worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick103
Rnd4
Caelen Carson
A tidy bit of business in the 103rd overall pick, where Caelen Carson graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick131
Rnd4
Nehemiah Pritchett
No drama and no debate, Nehemiah Pritchett went about where he belonged in pick No. 131. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134
Rnd4
Christian Jones
Christian Jones at the 134th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick138
Rnd5
Kalen King
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kalen King. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick164
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
No edge and no loss on Sione Vaki in pick 164; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick226
Rnd7
Trevin Wallace
They liked Trevin Wallace enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 226. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick248
Rnd7
Joshua Cephus
A conviction pick on Joshua Cephus at the Round 7 slot that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
