Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureC
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Ravens and Dixon: C+.

The board owed the Ravens one, and it paid up: Johnny Dixon, the No. 190 name on the board, sitting there at the 228th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.

They will need Tagovailoa to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
No edge and no loss on Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick53 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in the 53rd pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick71 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Legette. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick90 Rnd3 Max Melton
Max Melton at Round 3, Pick 27 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick93 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kris Abrams-Draine at slot 93. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at No. 113 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick130 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
A big swing on Justin Eboigbe at the 130th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick165 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
By-the-book stuff, Walter Rouse at No. 165 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick218 Rnd6 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 218th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick228 Rnd7 Johnny Dixon
They will replay Johnny Dixon at pick 228 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick250 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Taulia Tagovailoa well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
